Richard Dufresne joined METRO Inc. as Senior Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer in January 2006. He oversees all financial aspects of this business which now totals over $11 billion in sales. Richard is also responsible for corporate development activities.

Prior to joining METRO, Richard worked in investment banking, focused on corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions, most recently with Merrill Lynch Canada. Richard spent 15 years in investment banking advising numerous clients in the fields of mergers and acquisitions, equity, debt and other types of financings. He advised many of Quebec’s leading players over the years including METRO, Jean Coutu Group, CN, Industrial-Alliance, Bombardier, ACE Aviation to name a few.

Richard is a graduate of Laval University in Actuarial Science and holds an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business, University of Western Ontario.
